Ryan Taylor became intrigued with paragliders in the late '90s, and from there went on to be trained and taught by local pilots at the Telluride Air Force. Today, Taylor has come full circle from student to teacher. He has been instructing since 2008, and for the first time this summer has permission from Telluride Ski & Golf to operate commercial flights from the ski resort. Taylor’s company, Telluride Paragliding, offers tandem flights from Milk Run and Gold Hill, as well as intensive instruction. Enjoy the simplicity of flight. From 5 years old to 75 or older can enjoy tandem paragliding. The ability to run for just a few seconds on take-off and then on landing is all you need to do. Then you just enjoy the flight. These tandem flights are instructional and will be considered your first paragliding lesson. Most flights will be in the mornings in calm air and friendly skies. All flights are weather dependent as paragliders are a slow flying aircraft and need light winds to fly safely. All passengers are required to sign liability waivers. Appropriate clothing and footwear are necessary. Tandem flights cost $235.
